ADME and Toxicology Outsourcing, part of the global department Toxicology & Pharmacology within Pharmaceutical Sciences (PS), is the organization responsible for the strategic outsourcing of ADME and Toxicology studies in PS as well as certain pharmacology studies for different disease areas.

To complement our team we are looking for an experienced outsourcing manager in the area of ADME/Pharmacology outsourcing.


In this role you will be collaborating with experienced PDM* Project Leaders, mechanistic ADME experts in the areas of Drug Metabolism, Cellular Transport and Enzymology & DDI, with experts from other PS areas as well as with disease area biology leaders. In addition you will closely interact with colleagues from Roche Procurement (GPS) and Study Monitors and Key Client managers at the different Contract Research Organizations (CROs) globally.


Your responsibilities are:

  • ensure excellent and proactive communication and collaboration with PS project leaders, other PS experts, Procurement as well as CRO staff
  • act as study monitor mainly for in vivo & in vitro ADME and in vivo Pharmacology studies as well as for studies from other PS areas
  • strive for scientific, technical and regulatory excellence of all outsourced studies from initialization to reporting within agreed timelines and budget
  • develop and maintain full knowledge of CROs used (and beyond) with regard of their overall capabilities and special expertise enabling the selection of the right CRO for a given study
  • collaborate closely with Procurement in the identification and selection of suitable CROs for current and new scientific areas requiring outsourcing

To be successful in this role you have to bring following experience / skill set:

  • have a university education with PhD in Veterinary Medicine, Toxicology, Chemistry or Biology
  • bring a minimum of 5 years of experience as study director preferentially of  in vitro/in vivo ADME and in vivo Pharmacology studies
  • have experience as outsourcing manager or study monitor of in vitro/in vivo ADME and in vivo Pharmacology studies
  • excellent communication and collaborative skills adaptable to different internal and external stakeholders
  • flexibility regarding international travel
