The state of New York has provided $60 million to establish a School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at Binghamton University. The school will be housed in a new, state-of-the-art, 86,000 sq. ft. dedicated research and education building within the new Health Sciences and Technology Innovation Park. Job Description:

The research-focused School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at Binghamton University - SUNY is searching for an Assistant/Associate Professor with expertise in pharmaceutics to contribute to the research, teaching and service missions of the school. In 2018, the School will begin moving into newly constructed research and education buildings funded by the State of New York. The faculty member will join a rapidly growing and collaborative research group with expertise in neuromuscular disorders, cancer, drug and biomarker development, pre-clinical and clinical trials. Applicants with a strong record of research contributions including publications in reputable peer-reviewed journals and extramural support are highly desired. Preferred areas of research include drug development, drug characterization (PK/PD), formulation, targeted-drug delivery, biomedical devices or related topics. The school invites applications for a tenure-track or tenured faculty position in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. A commitment to departmental teaching and service is important. Previous experience in teaching is desired, but not required. Salary is commensurate with experience and excellent lab startup funding is available. The successful applicant will also share access to outstanding departmental core facilities for research including structural, analytical and imaging instruments. Primary duties and responsibilities include:

  • Demonstrate a commitment to research excellence and innovation
  • Demonstrate a commitment to academic excellence, including developing, teaching and assessing didactic and laboratory components in pharmaceutics-related courses within the PharmD program
  • Develop and provide research mentorship in a developing PhD program within the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences
  • Participate in service activities at the School and University levels, as appropriate
  • Possess excellent interpersonal communication skills and a strong commitment to scholarship and teaching both in a pharmacy degree program and in a developing PhD program in pharmaceutical sciences



Applicants must have a PhD or equivalent degree in a field related to Pharmaceutics with post-doctoral and/or industry experience.
