Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies - Pharmacy


Campus: Brooklyn

Job Duties: The College of Pharmacy Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies coordinates and administers planning, development, and implementation of research and graduate program advancement. The Associate Dean supports and facilitates Division Directors, Institute Directors, Graduate Program Directors and faculty in maintaining and expanding research programs. The Associate Dean demonstrates commitment to interdisciplinary and translational research and is proactive and strategic in the advancement of the overall research programs of the College. The Associate Dean leads the strategic planning for research, allocation and utilization of resources, and assures the continuity of the research program and graduate studies. The Associate Dean facilitates with the University's Office of Sponsored Research and other key campus and university units. The Associate Dean is responsible for the development, implementation, and coordination of activities that support the research program and graduate studies. The Associate Dean values, maintains and advances a culture of ethics, diversity, equal opportunity and fairness in the research programs and graduate studies of the College


Qualifications: Ph.D. or other appropriate terminal degree in a Pharmaceutical Sciences or related field and qualifies for appointment at the rank of associate professor or professor. Applicants should have a history of a distinguished career in academic research, scholarship and education; plus a minimum of five years of experience of research and teaching at the graduate level, and a minimum of three years of administrative experience. Demonstrated experience in securing extramural funding; innovative and effective research, leadership, management, and teaching; working with an office of research; and personnel management and evaluation. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Knowledgeable of the challenges facing faculty and students with respect to research, teaching and learning in the pharmaceutical sciences and/or related fields

Salary: Commensurate with experience

FLSA Classification: Exempt
