Under the direction of the Executive Director, GHH Compliance, the Director has primary responsibility for: 
  • Developing and implementing strategy for US GHH Data Analytics and Transparency 
  • Leading federal & state transparency reporting 
  • Serving as a Merck representative on external committees and working groups 
  • Driving innovation with analytical tools 
  • Leading and developing a team of 5 direct reports and 3 contracted support staff

Major Activities and Responsibilities: 

  • Develops annual GHH Monitoring Plan and provides oversight of all monitoring activities 
  • Leads risk assessment & mitigation plan process including quarterly monitoring updates 
  • Develops annual GHH Compliance monitoring report 
  • Oversees federal & state transparency reporting 
  • Serves as external point for PhRMA, CMS and outside counsel on transparency and data analytics issues 
  • Participates in external focus groups, conferences and other meetings in order to maintain Merck’s leadership position in the analytics and reporting space 
  • Oversees GCO scorecard process 
  • Provides subject matter expertise as needed across the GHH and GCO organizations. 
  • Leads efforts for developing innovation strategy for data analytics team (DAT) by introducing innovative technologies and new talent to Merck that can predict, forecast and analyze risk.  

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required

Required Experience and Skills:

  • 10 years Pharmaceutical/Compliance experience is required
  • Working knowledge of State and Federal Transparency laws
  • Experience with sophisticated data analytics

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • Knowledge of all applicable state & federal laws including but not limited to: OIG guidance, PhRMA code, Physician Payment Sunshine Act Regulations, FDA guidance and all state reporting regulations.
