Job Details

The faculty member will serve in a newly created pharmaceutics position in Kingsville. Faculty rank (Assistant Professor or Associate Professor) and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Responsibilities will include significant contributions to pharmacy related courses and assisting in other courses as per the needs of the College in the delivery of its professional pharmacy curriculum including: didactic instruction; team-based and other active learning activities; designing and conducting sterile product and compounding laboratory activities; participating in laboratory skills assessment exercises; student mentoring and advising; establishing a positive and supportive environment conducive to student learning and success. Faculty members are expected to utilize active learning methodologies. This position will include duties related to curricular and programmatic assessment.

The successful candidate will have opportunities to engage in collaborative research and contribute to the service mission of the College and the Texas A&M University. Faculty members will have access to start-up funds and opportunities for conducting applied and contract research.

Successful candidates will have earned a Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences or related field with practical experience commensurate with the rank applied. The position provides opportunities for individuals with a strong commitment to an academic career with an equal emphasis on instruction and research. The successful candidate will have excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills. Candidates with post-doctoral research experience, previous experience teaching doctorate of pharmacy students, a pharmacy background, and a track record of effective scholarship and research interests that complement the strengths of the College will be given preference.
