EnDev Labs is an expanding company specializing in prescription skin care products near the attractive Lake Norman community north of Charlotte, NC.  The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and validation of physicochemical characterization methods for topical drug products and raw materials with primary emphasis on particle size distribution (PSD) methods. 

 In addition to the activities above, the successful candidate will conduct particle size method transfers and verifications, develop product specifications, troubleshoot process problems, lead physicochemical characterization outsourcing activities, evaluate potential new instrumentation/equipment for lab expansion, write development reports, and evaluate stability data.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop, transfer, verify, and validate PSD methods for APIs and topical products with a Malvern 3000 Mastersizer and a Zeiss PLM microscope.
  • Develop viscosity and spectrographic test methods.
  • Assist with formulation development.
  • Troubleshoot technical problems.
  • Assist with the maintenance and repair of physical characterization equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records in compliance with GMP requirements.
  • Write development reports for method development.
  • Participate on multi-functional project teams throughout the product development cycle.

Work on multiple projects simultaneously and troubleshoot problems in bulk production and filling.

Requirements

Education Required:

  • BS in materials science, chemical engineering, pharmaceutics, chemistry, or physics. 

Preferred:  MS in materials science

Experience Required:

Several years’ experience with a Malvern Mastersizer 2000 or 3000 developing methods and testing samples.

Desirable:

6 or more years’ experience in the development of PSD methods for APIs and topical drug products with a Malvern Mastersizer 2000 or 3000 particle size analyzer.  Experience with microscopic characterization of crystals.
