The VMF (Vaccine Manufacturing Facility) Associate technician is an excellent opportunity for individuals that are interested in working in the production and manufacturing operations to produce vaccines. The individual in this position will support the manufacturing process through hands on activities. Key responsibilities for the Associate Technician include aseptic practice and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) adherence, working in a team environment to accomplish departmental goals, as well as the ability to direct your own work through leadership. The Technician will be part of the Lyophilization team on the following shift: C shift (6 AM to 6:30 PM).

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Work in conjunction with all appropriate personnel, perform manual and automated operations, general housekeeping and support functions necessary for the production of vaccines.
  • Serve on safety, quality and other committees as required.
  • Provide all documentation and clerical functions necessary to allow proper accountability and traceability of product.
  • Maintain, inventory, and transport all required equipment, materials, supplies and products. Ensure shipment criteria and timely availability and delivery.
  • Perform housekeeping in all work areas. Execute facility decontamination according to approved procedures.
  • Perform sampling/in-process testing supporting the manufacturing and validation process for current process as well as developmental work for new products/processes as required.
  • Identify and address compliance, environmental, safety, and process deviations as appropriate while notifying appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain, clean and prepare equipment used in vaccine production.
  • Schedule and perform environmental monitoring during processing and record results in the computerized database system.
  • Provide timely delivery of sample and other materials to appropriate laboratories, coordinating with Quality and Logistics as required.
  • Attend and actively participate in HAZOPS, waste walkthroughs, 5S, kaizen events, or any other operations, lean six-sigma, quality, safety or environmental training/initiatives as required.


Qualifications
Education:
  • High School Diploma/GED or higher
Required:
  • Minimum of 1 year’s experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
  • Willing and able to work 12 hour shifts, including evenings
  • Willing and able to work a rotating 2-2-3 schedule (2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on) which will include weekends
  • Willing and able to lift 50 pounds
  • Position requires aseptic gowning during performance of job duties. Aseptic gowning requires that all skin and hair are covered through wearing the following: beard/moustache cover, hair net, hood and facemask, goggles, jumpsuit, gloves and boots.
  • Willing and able to be vaccinated/blood tested for titer for products manufactured within the facility if needed
