This position will support Merck's drug discovery and development efforts in the Department of Pharmacokinetics, Pharmacodynamics and Drug Metabolism (PPDM) at the multi-disciplinary South San Francisco site.
  • The primary role will be to generate and interpret high quality in vitro PPDM data, partnering with drug discovery teams to enable the invention of novel therapeutics.
  • Performing assays according to standard protocols
  • Opportunities to develop novel approaches to address PPDM-related issues.  
 
 
 
 
 


Qualifications
Education /Work Experience Requirement:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Pharmacology, Chemical Engineering or related filed with a minimum of (3) years’ experience in Drug Metabolism & Pharmacokinetics
  • Master’s degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Pharmacology, Chemical Engineering or related filed with a minimum of (1) year experience in Drug Metabolism & Pharmacokinetics

 

Required Experience:
  • Experience in performing in vitro drug metabolism studies (e.g. metabolic stability, plasma protein binding, blood to plasma ratios and/or reaction phenotyping) according to given protocols
  • Experience in bioanalysis using LC-MS/MS
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
Preferred Experience:
  • Experience using Electronic Laboratory Notebooks, Analyst and Microsoft Office
  • LC-MS/MS trouble-shooting ability
  • Assay method development
