The Exploratory In-vivo Safety Pharmacology group within the Safety and Exploratory Pharmacology Department is seeking a talented and motivated bench scientist to conduct preclinical exploratory (non-GLP) or GLP safety pharmacology studies designed to provide critical information on cardiovascular, respiratory, and nervous systems to support drug development candidates.

As an individual contributor, the successful candidate will:
  • Work closely with the Study Director to write or contribute to study protocols
  • Plan and coordinate study logistics with study team 
  • Collaborate with supporting groups regarding study execution
  • Conduct experiments according to study protocols in a safe manner and according to SOPs and GLP regulations
  • Document results and accurately record observations in accordance with GLPs and SOPs
  • Perform data analysis and maintain study records and effectively communicate study events with study participants
  • Participate in summarizing data, data interpretation, including verification/QC review of study data, notebooks, and study reports
  • May serve in the role of Contributing Scientist or Study Director on exploratory and/or GLP studies, with appropriate training and oversight

  • BS/MS in Biological sciences with a minimum of 5 years of relevant laboratory experience.

  • Relevant experience/expertise in the conduct of in-vivo cardiovascular, respiratory, and/or nervous system safety pharmacology assessments in rodents and/or non-rodents 
  • Solid understanding of operations and practices necessary in a GLP compliant environment including adherence to SOPs and policies, study protocols, and proper study file documentation.
  • Ability to apply critical and analytical thinking to develop innovative solutions to complex research problems
  • Attention to detail through all aspects of study conduct 
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and deliver high quality results within tightly constrained timelines
  • Self-motivation, positive attitude, and a strong desire to succeed in a team setting

  • Experience in the conduct of non-rodent telemetry studies using various technologies
  • Experience using Notocord software for acquisition and analysis of cardiovascular and respiratory data
  • GLP system validation experience
