Key responsibilities include participation, but not limited to, the following FP&A activities: 
  • Development of MRL division budget, forecasts and long range operating plan. 
  • Monthly book close process; Monthly system tie-out reconciliation between BRIDGES, HFM and BPC 10.1 for MRL; above market entries in HFM each month for the division 
  • Collection and compilation of data from MRL subdivisions to support all forecast and actuals submission; analysis and composition of commentary to support senior management presentations 
  • Analyses to evaluate Forecast and Actuals variances from Budget, prior estimates and prior year, and various ad hoc financial reports. Highlight trends/ issues for senior management 
  • Satisfying all divisional reporting requirements to Corporate and PwC. 
  • Working closely with MRL Finance teams, as well as with various other divisional Finance and Corporate groups. 
  • Development and management of the Research Administration Budget, long range Operating Plan and Forecast for the MRL division, providing meaningful analyses of key drivers of performance. 
  • MRL restatement / shift process each cycle 
  • Development of the planning calendar 
  • MRL standardized reporting initiative through design and implementation of the reports in BPC 10.1 
  • Partnering with the MRLFS GMS team, Tax Department and other areas outside of MRLFS, is responsible for the timely and accurate submission of all Government reports and surveys 

Education Minimum Requirement:
  • BA/BS in Accounting or Finance;
  • Preferred: MA/MS/MBA in Accounting, Finance or a CPA

Required Experience and Skills: 

  • 3 years experience in accounting/finance
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with all levels within the MRL and Finance organizations while maintaining a strong customer focus. 
  • Solid team player with strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to prioritize tasks as appropriate; detail oriented; ability to work independently under tight deadlines. 
  • Highly motivated and a self-starter 
  • Comfortable working in an environment that is demanding and dynamic while managing several priorities

Preferred Experience and Skills: 

  • Proficiency and a strong knowledge in BRIDGES, BPC 10 for MRL and HFM, as well as advanced presentation skills (PowerPoint / Think cell) is a plus.
