Under the general direction of an Associate Director, the incumbent is responsible for leading/supporting teams which is focused on continuous process improvements, reducing process variability, production schedules and strategic initiatives. Uses teamwork and good communications to drive results while adhering to and being knowledgeable of policies and GDLs. Adheres to Good Manufacturing Practices, approved process steps, SOPs, quality procedures, safety, and environmental standards while working and leading teams.

Understands and applies business knowledge in decision making for the operations area. Has developed conceptual and practical expertise in own discipline. Applies knowledge of internal/external processes to drive improvements. Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective using existing solutions. Works independently, receives minimal guidance. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May act as a team lead or project lead and drive change; promotes teamwork and open discussion of issues, coaches and guides others. Interprets customer needs, assesses requirements and identifies solutions to non-standard requests. Explains difficult issues and works to build alignment around a complex situation.

Maintain control of processes and product quality by developing appropriate procedures and ensuring compliance with cGMPs, safety and environmental regulations. Monitor the manufacturing processes during the shift. Participate in internal sub-teams focused on process improvements by using lean methodology. Work with IPT members from Operations, Quality and Technical Operations to properly handle unplanned events and ensure that corrective actions are implemented.

Collaborate with IPT members in the identification and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives and action plans. Support activities in the areas of cost reduction, efficiency, productivity, operational excellence and lean practices.



Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher
  • Four years’ experience in a leadership position
  • Manufacturing experience in operational capacity in a GMP or highly regulated industry.
