Job Details

The Center for Clinical Pharmacology, a collaboration established in 2015 between Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis - Department of Anesthesiology and the St. Louis College of Pharmacy, invites applications for one or more tenure-track faculty positions. All faculty will have appointments in both institutions.

The specific focus of these new positions is translational and/or clinical research in analgesia and neuropharmacology.  Specific areas of interest to the Center may include, but are not limited  to opioids, cannabinoids and other novel non-opioids, biased signaling affecting drug response and rational drug selection, the blood-brain barrier and factors affecting central nervous system drug access, human models of pain and analgesia, imaging approaches and applications, and pharmacogenomics and precision medicine.

Applications from candidates conducting translational and/or clinical research are specifically encouraged.  Positions are targeted at both the Assistant Professor and outstanding established investigators at the Associate Professor/Professor levels. Successful candidates will be expected to direct an active extramurally funded research program and participate in graduate and/or postdoctoral education. Teaching opportunities are readily available but requirements are minimal, permitting a strong focus on research.  Generous startup funds and newly constructed lab space are available.

Candidates must have a doctoral degree (PharmD, PhD, MD or equivalent), postdoctoral training, and a demonstrated record of accomplishment.  Applications will be reviewed as received until the positions are filled.  To apply, send a curriculum vitae, a summary of past research activities, future research plans, and the names of three references to: Evan Kharasch, MD PhD, Director, or Karen Seibert, PhD, CoDirector, via email to
