Celerion seeks a Scientist, Method Development in our Assay Development team. The successful candidate will have strong problem solving skills as well as scientific expertise and knowledge in large molecule bioanalytical method development.
This full-time leadership role is located at our Lincoln, NE facility.
Role: The role of the Scientist Method Development is to provide scientific expertise and method development skills for the Assay Development group at Celerion focusing on bio-therapeutic development. A key component of the role is to provide innovation and research to allow our team to stay at the forefront of Bioanalytical Sciences supporting bio-therapeutic development.
Undertake original and innovative research and techniques that includes developing and validating assays utilizing state-of-the-art technologies for the rapid and accurate analysis of protein/peptides/ antibodies in biological matrices for exposure, immunogenicity and pharmacodynamics endpoints
Works as part of the bigger team to achieve challenging business objectives for method development team
Develop methods by applying and interpreting scientific theories, concepts, techniques, and regulatory requirements in bioanalytical studies
Provide technical/scientific guidance and leadership to study teams, as well as other areas of the company to ensure project completion in timely manner
Implementing design of experiments (DOE) and other systematic and statistical approaches to method development
Author scientific papers which are published in peer-reviewed journals
Participate and provide technical expertise during client visits
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences, Immunology or equivalent is required. An advanced degree is preferred.
3+ years of related experience, CRO experience is preferred.
The candidate must have proven proficiency in assay development and be capable of working on multiple projects simultaneously.
Prior experience working in a regulated GLP compliant environment is preferred.
Experience in one or more immunoassay techniques, (Ligand-binding assay: ELISA, MSD, applicable to Pharmacokinetic and Immunogenicity studies preferred.
Experience in molecular biology techniques such as qPCR and RT-PCR is advantageous.
Experience in immunology and cell biology techniques such as Flow cytometry and cell based functional assays is advantageous.
Experience in utilizing statistical tools (e.g. Design of Experiment) is preferred.
The successful candidate will have excellent verbal and technical writing skills and be capable of presenting to an audience of researchers from a variety of disciplines.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work with staff in other locations effectively.
