The department of Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) at Genentech is seeking a Scientific Researcher or Senior Scientific Researcher with hands-on LC/MS experience and proven abilities in determining the biotransformation pathways of drugs by drug metabolizing enzymes. Primary responsibilities include profiling and identification of drug metabolites in in vitro and in vivo biological matrices using HPLC with radiometric detection and LC-MS/MS; design, execution and reporting of biotransformation studies to support drug development and regulatory filings.
Who You Are
The position requires a BS/MS degree in chemistry, biochemistry, pharmaceutical sciences or other relevant disciplines with 0-3 year experience for Scientific Researcher or minimum of 5 year experience for Senior Scientific Researcher. Strong LC-MS experience is essential. Experiences with use of radiolabels, conducting regulatory filing studies, and writing scientific reports are preferred. The position also requires expertise in sample preparation as well as subsequent analysis, including metabolite structure elucidation by MS/MS. The candidate should be capable of working independently under moderate supervision and should possess good writing and verbal communication skills.
