Business Improvement Manager

The Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) organization was formed to support Roche as a whole in our quest for Customer Excellence and improved processes that will delight our customers.  The Business Improvement Manager will play an integral role in delivering the CPI strategy.

The Business Improvement Manager will join a centralized team of experts who will focus on driving improvements across RDC.  The Business Improvement Manager will leverage best in class practices and tools and create a culture of continuous improvement with a relentless focus on simplifying our work and enhancing our processes.

The Business Improvement Manager drives organizational initiatives aimed at improving business and process effectiveness that contribute to achieving sustainable results.  Formulates, executes and follows business strategy.  Works cross-functionally with multiple Business Areas and supports them in the identification, scoping, management and execution of process effectiveness-related initiatives that will contribute to increased commercial readiness, on-time execution and value-add to Roche customers. May be also accountable for working with Global teams and Roche Diagnostics Operations, beyond regional Business Areas, as assigned by manager.  Responsible for all aspects of assigned projects and single point of contact. provides a unifying vision of the project goal, as well as a continuous clear direction toward that goal.

Specialized and in-depth comprehensive knowledge and experience in a particular field, or business area.  Duties are varied and complex often involving research, analysis and solution development.  Provides direction on issues of area of expertise and assist department leadership in setting strategic direction.  Requires the regular use of originality and ingenuity.  Possesses and applies a comprehensive knowledge of a particular field or business function. Plans, conducts and oversees work involving the largest and most important/complex projects.  Does not supervise but provides direction to team on projects and assignments. Works with minimum supervision. Reviews progress with management.

Responsible for maintaining and continuously improving the quality system and achieving quality objectives through daily actions.

The Opportunity:

Assist the Sr. Manager in driving the vision, core programs, and tools needed to create a culture of continuous improvement throughout the RDC organization. Serves as a change advocate and implements new and innovative improvement tools and methodologies while utilizing lean/six sigma principles. Coaches and teaches others on use and application of the tools. Champion the development, change management, and deployment of a continuous improvement culture. This includes helping to implement a standardized approach to continuous improvement, modeling of lean/six sigma transformation efforts through demonstrated leadership and deployment of tools. Leverage Voice of Customer data and metrics to identify and drive process improvement initiatives within the value stream in alignment with overall RDC strategies. This position will assist in driving a standardized end to end approach to strategic workflow consultancy that creates evidenced-based differentiated value, across our 1Roche solution portfolio. Administers standardized and harmonized practices for a consistent continuous improvement culture across RDC.

Who you are:

⢠Bachelorâs degree in business

⢠8 years of relevant experience

⢠Leadership skills including strategic development, stakeholder management, team building, team mobilization, motivating, conflict resolution, problem solving and interpersonal and communication skills such as negotiation, influence and presentation skills

⢠Project management skills

⢠Knowledge of organization, business processes, process effectiveness and compliance requirements

⢠Six Sigma Black Belt and process effectiveness-related knowledge and experience


⢠Proven experience in transforming organizations through the implementation of lean/six sigma methodologies, goals, and strategies

⢠Master in business Administration

⢠Background must include proven track record of delivering results in a high- performance continuous improvement environment through implementation of and expertise with the latest lean manufacturing methods (PDCA, Kaizen, TPS, VSM and other continuous improvement methodologies)

⢠Current proficient level knowledge of Lean and Six Sigma principles and practices, and the ability to apply these to RDO, Marketing, Sales, and Operational departments.

⢠Strong Business Acumen

⢠Advanced verbal and written communication skills to influence customer decision makers by articulating ideas and influencing others to adopt solutions and meet business objectives.

⢠Leadership skills including stakeholder management, motivating, conflict resolution, and interpersonal and demonstrate unquestioned integrity and trust

⢠Strong organization and analytical skills

⢠Strong interpersonal skills to manage internal customer relationships, and interface across RDC functions and businesses
