HR Business Partner

Vacaville, CA

The strategic human resources business partner at the Vacaville Manufacturing organization (a remote site of the greater Pharma Technical Operations client organization), will support the overall site people strategy and ensure effective execution of HR responsibilities. Acting as a trusted advisor and sounding board for assigned local site client leaders and employees, the successful incumbent will proactively consult, advise, influence, coach and partner with the business on people and organization needs to drive organizational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify, define and implement people/organizational solutions that contribute to the business strategy and address the needs of the site functional teams while understanding the broader implications (e.g. Group HR strategy, other sites/functions).

  • Actively sponsor, lead and reinforce the People Agenda by applying broad HR skills in the areas of talent management, organization design and development, change management, workforce planning, coaching/consultation, program/project management, facilitation and communication.  

  • Ensure excellent alignment and successful execution of established human resources policies, procedures and Group, functional, and site HR initiatives (for example, talent management, succession planning, performance management, development planning, compensation planning).

  • Successfully support and execute on initiatives and Group processes (this includes providing input to and leveraging tools and templates from CoEs where appropriate) in partnership and collaboration with the site HR team.

  • Provide insights to help identify talent issues before they affect the business. Act as a talent scout for internal talent for local management positions and help develop the next generation of leaders through talent management and career development.

  • Foster positive working relationships for the HR team and clients through active collaborations with Genentech HR partners (compensation, employee relations, learning , development and staffing organizations and the HR Shared Service Center) to ensure aligned and consistent support of client activities.

  • Ensure compliance of all HR practices within area of responsibility and with legislative and regulatory requirements, standards and other known relevant policies and guidelines.

This position is not eligible for relocation.

Who you are

  • 8+ years of progressively responsible HR and/or business experience with a minimum of 5 years of HR or related experience and exposure to and competence in HR functional areas

  • Bachelor's Degree required.

  • Possess a broad range of functional HR skills including areas such as Workforce Planning, Recruitment, Performance Management, Compensation, Organizational Development, Talent Management, Succession Planning, and Change Management

  • Highest level of collaboration, partnership, and ability to work within a matrix environment.

  • Proven track record for consistently meeting or exceeding goals

  • Bio-tech or pharmaceutical experience a plus

  • Broad HR Functional/Technical Knowledge and Expertise

  • High Level Project Management Skills

  • Excellent Consultation and Influencing Skills

  • Demonstrated Leadership Skills
