Assistant/Associate Professor, Tenure Track, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences
Primary Purpose and Essential Functions: The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences invites applications from dynamic scholars committed to excellence in teaching and innovative research to join our faculty. The position has a required teaching contribution in the areas of pharmaceutics and pharmacokinetics in the professional pharmacy (Doctor of Pharmacy) program, Pharmaceutical and Chemical Sciences Graduate Program and/or Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences program. Coordinating one or more courses in team-taught curriculum is required. The successful candidate will establish a robust, externally-funded research program that advances departmental goals while mentoring undergraduate, professional, and graduate students in laboratory and classroom settings. Academic advising for bachelor of pharmaceutical sciences, professional pharmacy or pre-pharmacy students is required. Serving on committees at departmental, school, and university level is expected. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to work collegially.

Minimum Qualifications: A Ph.D. degree in pharmaceutics or related fields is required. The successful individual is expected to establish an active research program and obtain external funding. Our thriving research environment offers abundant opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration within the university and with nearby research institutions and biotechnology companies throughout California's innovative ecosystem. Interdisciplinary research is highly desirable in the graduate program and the candidate is expected to participate in existing and/or new research collaborations.
Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated ability to achieve outcomes through effective collaboration. Active participation in the preparation of scientific abstracts, manuscripts and/or developing external grant applications. Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills and evidence of strong productivity.
Postdoctoral research or industry experience is also desirable. Although research focus is not specified and open to any related fields, applicants with research/teaching expertise in the areas of drug delivery or kinetics of proteins, vaccines, immune therapies, cell therapeutics or related fields are desirable.
Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures. Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting. Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.
